What you need to know

The Ottawa Hospital uses a five-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills.

COVID-19 vaccination requirement

The Ottawa Hospital is committed to providing a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors. Consistent with that commitment, all applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be considered for any staff or volunteer opportunities. Applicants are also strongly encouraged to receive their COVID-19 booster when eligible to protect against the spread of COVID-19. 

Upon hiring, presentation of documentation confirming COVID-19 vaccination must be provided, or presentation of supporting documentation of a valid medical contraindication or other reasonable consideration pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and/or exemption is subject to review by Occupational Health, and additional information may be requested if necessary.

Fraud advisory – Fraudulent employment offers

The Ottawa Hospital is aware of fraudulent job postings and fake employment letters circulating in the community. Scammers may falsely claim to represent the hospital to obtain your personal or financial information. These communications can appear professional, but they are not legitimate.

Common signs of fraudulent job postings or offers

  1. Not listed on our official Careers page or missing The Ottawa Hospital’s official logo and contact information.
  2. Emails sent from free accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo or Outlook.
  3. Job offers you did not apply or interview for.
  4. Requests for payment or financial information (e.g., fees, credit card details) at any stage of the application process.
