Overview
Medical Imaging plays a key role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of health conditions.
At The Ottawa Hospital, we offer comprehensive imaging services—from X-rays and ultrasounds to advanced image-guided therapies—across the Champlain Region.
Our team is committed to providing safe, high-quality care in a supportive environment. We follow best practice guidelines and work closely with other health-care professionals to ensure accurate results and effective treatment planning.
We also help train future medical imaging professionals and contribute to research that improves patient care, especially in areas like pain management, recovery after surgery and patient safety.

Referral process
Referring physicians start the process by submitting a requisition for a diagnostic imaging procedure.
Once we receive the requisition, our booking office reviews it to confirm the procedure is appropriate and to determine its priority.
After the review, we contact patients to schedule their appointments. At that time, we provide verbal instructions and explain any preparation instructions you need to follow
If the appointment is scheduled 18 days or more in advance, we send written notices. We also provide reminders 24 and 48 hours before the appointment.
