Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology at The Ottawa Hospital provides expert care before, during and after surgery.

Overview

Our team supports patients through some of their most critical moments, helping manage pain, monitor vital functions and ensure safety during procedures.

You will see us in operating rooms, recovery rooms and intensive care units.  We are in the hyperbaric unit, birthing units and maternity units.  We help prepare patients for surgery and look after people with acute pain.  We see patients in chronic pain clinics and work with Palliative Care to run the Complex Cancer Pain Clinic. We administer anesthesia care in remote locations in endoscopy and in radiology suites.

In short, we are all around the hospital, and we are here for you.
