Outpatient Services and Urgent Consultation Clinic
Outpatient clinics
The Ottawa Hospital has two outpatient mental health units at the Civic and General campuses that provide follow-up care for patients after discharge from the hospital when ongoing treatment is needed. These clinics also include a neuroleptic clinic, where patients can receive long-acting medications.
The Urgent Consultation Clinic
Patients at the Urgent Consultation Clinic will be seen by a psychiatrist for four to six sessions following discharge from the hospital. The benefit of the clinic is to provide patients with rapid access to psychiatric care while an individual is being linked to ongoing treatment in the community. Most patients are seen at the Urgent Consultation Clinic 14 days following a referral.
