Programs and Services 

Acute Partial Hospitalization Program (APHP)

This program provides intensive, group-based treatment to individuals with moderate to severe mental illness to help them function and live independently. 

Community Treatment Order Program (CTO)

This program provides coordination for the development and ongoing functioning of CTOs with one of three coordinators in the region. 

Consultative and Educational Services

This service provides consultation to hospital units and supports education through clinical teaching and student training. 

Eating Disorders Program (EDP)

This program provides specialized inpatient, day and outpatient treatment for adults in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario with serious eating disorders.

Inpatient Services

Short-term care for individuals in crisis, most of whom are admitted through psychiatric emergency services and require intensive, involuntary treatment. 

Mental Well-Being Response Team (MWRT)

A team that responds to non-violent, non-criminal 9-1-1 calls within Ottawa where mental health issues and substance use are contributing and/or complicating factors.  

Mobile Crisis Team (MCT)

A team that quickly helps people in the community who are having a mental health crisis by assessing their needs and helping them stabilize. 

OnTrack: First Episode Psychosis Program

A voluntary program that helps people aged 16 to 35 who are experiencing early signs of psychosis a possible psychotic illness. 

Outpatient Services and Urgent Consultation Clinic

Follow-up treatment for patients following discharge from TOH, where ongoing treatment is required. 

Perinatal Mental Health Program

Specialized psychiatric support to people who are planning pregnancy, are pregnant, or who have given birth in the past year, and who have existing or suspected mental health issues. 

Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES)

Specialized, secure care for people who have a psychiatric illness and are in crisis, offering rapid assessment and connection to appropriate follow-up services. 

Shared Mental Health Care

Coordination with The Ottawa Hospital’s Family Health Teams to provide short-term mental health support—like assessment, therapy and treatment recommendations—within a patient’s primary care setting.
