Overview
A revolution in breast health for patients in our region.
The Rose Ages Breast Health Centre (BHC) provides coordinated breast care for people across the Champlain region. We are here to guide you through every stage of your journey, from your first assessment to diagnosis and treatment.
Our team includes radiologists, technologists, surgeons, family physicians, nurses, clerical staff and a social worker. Together, we work to ensure you receive well-organized, compassionate care.
What we do
Our goal is to make your experience as clear and supportive as possible, so you know what to expect at every step. Throughout your care, we offer navigation support, education and emotional resources for you and your family.
We use state-of-the-art equipment
for breast imaging and biopsies.
We perform risk assessments and consultations
for both benign and cancerous conditions.
We provide surgical planning
and connect you with oncology services when needed.

Diagnostic services
- Digital mammography: An X-ray of the breast that uses digital technology to create detailed images.
- Contrast-enhanced mammography: A mammogram done after injecting a safe dye to highlight areas that may need closer examination.
- Digital breast tomosynthesis: Also called 3D mammography, this creates layered images of the breast for better detail.
- Breast ultrasound: Uses sound waves to create pictures of the inside of the breast, often used to check a lump.
- Breast MRI: A scan that uses magnets and radio waves to make detailed images of the breast.
- Image-guided needle biopsy: A procedure where a small sample of tissue is taken using imaging to guide the needle.
- Review of outside imaging and second opinions: Our specialists review images from other clinics and provide an expert opinion.
- Coordination of additional imaging after abnormal screening results: We arrange follow-up tests if your screening shows something unusual.
Consultations
- High-risk assessments: A review of your personal and family history to understand your risk for breast cancer.
- Surgical assessment and discussion: Meeting with a surgeon to talk about treatment choices for non-cancerous or cancerous conditions.
- Prophylactic surgical services: Surgery to reduce the risk of breast cancer for people at very high risk.
Treatment
- Surgical planning and perioperative care: Preparing for surgery and supporting you before and after the procedure.
- Coordination of care from diagnosis through treatment: Making sure all parts of your care work together smoothly.
- Referrals to medical and radiation oncology as needed: Connecting you with cancer specialists for chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
- Access to pain and symptom management services: Helping you manage pain or other symptoms during treatment.
Referrals
All patients must be referred to the Breast Health Centre by a physician.

To request services, please fax the imaging requisition form, and
- If patient under 30 years old: ultrasound.
- If patient over 30 years old: mammogram and ultrasound.
To request a consultation, please fax:
- A completed physician referral.
- Imaging reports.
- Pathology report (if available).
