Overview
The University of Ottawa Eye Institute of The Ottawa Hospital is a world class facility recognized internationally for excellence in patient eye care, research and teaching in the field of ophthalmology.
The Eye Institute is a major clinical, teaching and research centre for ophthalmology in Canada with over 28 full-time and part-time ophthalmologists and six PhDs. Our mission is to promote advances in the investigation, treatment, and prevention of visual disorders.
We are part of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine, and are located at General Campus of The Ottawa Hospital.

Appointments
- New patients require a referral from their physician or optometrist to one of our ophthalmologists.
- All patient visits require a scheduled appointment.

Important: Remove hard lenses 48 hours and soft lenses 24 hours prior to your appointment. On the day of the appointment bring your:
- Provincial health card
- Glasses / contact lenses with case
- List of medications and eye drops
Park in the Critical Care Wing lot. It is closest to the Eye Institute.
